Craft Pils Glass developed with Trumer Privatbrauerei

Spiegelau introduced its craft beer glass series in 2016 and has now developed the CraftPils glass with Trumer Privatbrauerei. The renowned Austrian brewery is headquartered in Obertrum near Salzburg and is considered a specialist in pilsner-style beers. Working with Trumer and Kiesbye’s Bierkulturhaus, where the “beer sommelier movement” began, a special glass has now been developed that perfects the pilsner beer experience.

In countless design and tasting workshops, the glass experts at Spiegelau joined forces with pilsner experts from Trumer as well as a group of beer sommelier graduates to finalize the crystal glass, which is customized to accentuate the aromatic structure of pilsner beers. The shape of the glass is designed to help release the delicate hops aromas. It provides the ideal balance between bitter and residual sweetness to deliver pure refreshment and inspire you to enjoy sip after sip.

“The slim design of the Spiegelau CraftPils glass raises the bar when you’re drinking, with the beer striking the palate further toward the back where our bitterness taste receptors are located. This enhances the sensory perception of the dry, lightly sweet and pleasantly bitter interplay that is typical of a pilsner. The taper in the lower part of the glass creates a gentle swirl and releases aromas, and because the glass comes together toward the top it helps keep those aromas inside,” explains Josef Sigl, Director at Trumer Privatbrauerei.

All of the benefits at a glance: •    Shape of the glass highlights the characteristic features of pilsner beer •    Laser cut lip ensures crisp, clean delivery in every sip •    Ultra-pure quartz material makes for unsurpassed clarity and flawless, true-color presentation •    Tapered glass refreshes the beer after each sip – perfect pleasure until the last drop
